Speaking at The Economic Times Awards for Corporate Excellence on March 4, 2025, FM Sitharaman emphasized that since the launch of GST in 2017, the Revenue Neutral Rate (RNR) has dropped from 15.3% to 11.4% as of 2023. Acknowledging the challenges faced by businesses due to frequent GST rule changes, she assured that the government is working to restructure the existing GST slabs and make the taxation system simpler, more predictable, and business-friendly.
