A key objective of the awards is to foster a culture of entrepreneurship across India, with particular emphasis on promoting enterprises led by women, SC/ST communities, differently-abled individuals, and entrepreneurs from the North Eastern region. Diverse Award Categories and Attractive Benefits The awards are presented in 35 categories spanning various sectors, including: Micro, Small, and Medium Manufacturing Services Export-Oriented MSMEs Innovation and Digital Transformation Women-Led Enterprises Enterprises owned by SC/ST or Divyang entrepreneurs MSMEs from Aspirational Districts and the North East Winners receive cash prizes along with trophies and certificates: ₹3,00,000 for first prize, ₹2,00,000 for second, and ₹1,00,000 for third. Additionally, awardees gain the prestigious right to use the National Award logo on their products and promotional materials—enhancing their brand credibility and market presence. Notably, these cash awards are exempt from income tax under Section 10(17) of the Income Tax Act. Eligibility and Application Process To be eligible, MSMEs must be registered under the Udyam Registration portal and comply with all environmental, labor, and legal regulations. Applicants should maintain transparent financial records and have no criminal or major tax liabilities. Previous winners can reapply for higher category awards after a gap of four years.
