With a total outlay of ₹1000 crore, the scheme is a flagship effort by the Ministry of Power, implemented through the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), to accelerate the adoption of energy-efficient technologies across India’s Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). Designed to provide comprehensive technical and financial support, ADEETIE offers interest subvention of 5% for Micro and Small Enterprises and 3% for Medium Enterprises for loans aimed at energy efficiency (EE) upgrades. Speaking at the launch, Shri Manohar Lal emphasized the scheme’s alignment with the Viksit Bharat vision and the need to empower MSMEs with tools to become globally competitive. He highlighted that technologies supported under ADEETIE can help MSMEs reduce energy use by 30–50%, improve the power-to-product ratio, and contribute to building green energy corridors. Shri Pankaj Agarwal, Secretary, Ministry of Power, stressed the role of BEE in mainstreaming energy efficiency projects and announced that 14 sectors and 60 industrial clusters will be covered in the first phase. He underlined the importance of a supportive financing ecosystem to drive MSME participation. Shri A.K. He also noted that the scheme is expected to mobilize ₹9000 crore in investments, including ₹6750 crore in loans from participating MSMEs. The launch event also saw MoU signings with key industry associations, distribution of appreciation certificates to MSMEs involved in the pilot phase, and testimonials from entrepreneurs who had already benefitted through early adoption of clean technologies. With strong institutional backing and an inclusive design, ADEETIE is positioned as a transformative initiative to boost industrial competitiveness, meet India’s climate commitments, and make the MSME sector a frontrunner in sustainable growth.Disclaimer: This summary is for informational purposes and readers should verify specific details through official reports or consult industry professionals for comprehensive insights.
