11 Crore Jobs Created by MSMEs, Backbone of India’s Economy; Rajya Sabha MP Neeraj Shekhar Ji at MSME Bharat Summit 2025

At the MSME Bharat Summit 2025, hosted by MSME Sampark in New Delhi, Shri Neeraj Shekhar Ji, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha, joined as the Chief Guest and shared an inspiring message with the MSME community. He began by thanking the organisers for creating such a meaningful platform for India’s micro, small, and medium enterprises.

During his address, Shri Neeraj Shekhar Ji spoke about the impressive growth of the MSME sector in recent years. He credited the Government of India, led by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji, for launching various supportive schemes and policies to help MSMEs thrive.

Highlighting the importance of MSMEs in India’s economy, he shared that the sector contributes around 30% to the country’s GDP, makes up 48% of India’s exports, and provides employment to over 11 crore people — truly making it the backbone of the nation’s economy.

He was especially happy to see MSMEs exploring IPO opportunities, which are opening up new paths for business growth, better access to capital, and expanded markets.

Citing examples from his home state Uttar Pradesh, Shri Shekhar Ji spoke about how young entrepreneurs are successfully using government schemes like Mudra Yojana to start and grow their businesses. He encouraged the organisers to hold similar MSME summits in smaller cities and towns so that entrepreneurs in tier-2 and tier-3 areas can also benefit from such opportunities.

He also praised the wonderful work being done by women-led self-help groups (SHGs) in villages and highlighted the importance of inclusive growth by supporting rural businesses.

In his closing remarks, Shri Neeraj Shekhar Ji assured the MSME community of his personal commitment to raising their concerns with the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO). He promised to continue being a strong voice for MSMEs and to work towards resolving their challenges at the highest level.

His words left a positive and lasting impression on the audience, reinforcing the shared vision of building a stronger, more empowered MSME ecosystem in India.
