The initiative aims to bring high-speed mobile connectivity to uncovered, remote, and strategic areas, while enhancing existing digital infrastructure. Discussions were held with state governments to resolve pending forest clearance issues and other local impediments. Shri Praveen Mahto, Principal Economic Adviser, DPIIT, chaired the meeting and reiterated the government’s commitment to proactive governance and effective coordination. He encouraged project proponents to actively use the PMG portal (https://pmg.dpiit.gov.in/) for resolving pending approvals and accelerating timelines. Mahto also stressed the importance of synergy between central ministries, state governments, and private stakeholders for timely implementation of projects that have far-reaching economic and social impact. The session saw active participation from senior officials of central and state governments, as well as representatives from key private-sector entities.
