MSME Ministry Empowers Small Enterprises with Digital and E-Commerce Support under RAMP August 17, 2025 Rahul Singh Msme News 0 India’s Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs), which form the backbone of the economy, are now being given a stronger digital push. The Ministry of MSME has launched the MSE TEAM (Trade Enablement and Marketing) Initiative, a sub-scheme under the World Bank-supported Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) Programme, to ensure that even the smallest businesses can find their place in the fast-growing world of e-commerce. The initiative is not just about creating online marketplaces—it is about handholding entrepreneurs through every step of their digital journey. From onboarding and cataloguing products to managing accounts, packaging, logistics, and even marketing guidance, MSE TEAM is designed to give small business owners the confidence to compete online. Training and capacity-building sessions form the backbone of this programme, ensuring that enterprises are not left behind once they step into the digital world. Importantly, the scheme is expected to benefit five lakh MSEs, including 2.5 lakh women-led units, with special outreach in Tier II and Tier III cities where opportunities are often limited. This vision of empowering entrepreneurs is also reflected in other initiatives of the Ministry. The eKhadi India Portal has become a bridge between artisans, weavers, and modern consumers. It allows customers to access authentic Khadi and Village Industries products—ranging from apparel and home décor to groceries and wellness items—directly from the source. By linking the platform with the Government e-Marketplace (GeM), these grassroots producers now find themselves part of India’s mainstream procurement system. Similarly, the MSME Global Mart, operated by the National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC), acts as a digital marketplace connecting small enterprises with buyers across the globe. It provides tools like marketing support, trade leads, tender information, and enhanced visibility, helping MSMEs showcase their capabilities far beyond local boundaries. To further strengthen market access, the Procurement and Marketing Support (PMS) Scheme enables MSMEs to participate in trade fairs, exhibitions, and buyer-seller meets. It also offers financial assistance for cataloguing and subscriptions on platforms like MSME Global Mart—removing cost barriers that often discourage small businesses from going digital. Together, these efforts signal a powerful shift: Indian MSMEs are no longer confined to local bazaars—they are stepping confidently into global markets. By combining tradition with technology, the Ministry of MSME is ensuring that small businesses not only survive but thrive in an increasingly digital economy. digitalE CommerceempowermentministryMsmeRAMPPopular Articles Msme News FISME and GAME Organize High-Level Roundtable on MSME Financing in New Delhi Msme News Cabinet Approves Prime Minister Dhan-Dhaanya Krishi Yojana to Boost Agriculture in 100 Districts Msme News Govt. of India Revises MSME Classification Criteria Effective April 1, 2025 Msme News NSIC Celebrates 70th Foundation Day, Reaffirms Commitment to Atmanirbhar Bharat Msme News Chandigarh Set to Boost MSME Sector with 12-Point Development Programme Msme News Veteran Politician Nur Azam Mondal Appointed Assam Coordinator for MSME Promotion Council Msme News Filter Capital Invests USD 10 Million in M1xchange to Strengthen MSME Financing Ecosystem Msme News SBI to Shift to Cash-Flow Based Lending for MSME Loans Up to ₹5 Crore: Chairman Setty Msme News SBI Plans to Raise Instant Loan Limit for MSMEs Msme News India’s Defence Exports Boost MSME Growth with U.S., France, and Armenia as Top Buyers
