Shobha Karandlaje, Union Minister of State for Labour and Employment and MSMEs, highlighted the critical role that MSMEs play in achieving the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, which envisions India becoming a fully developed and self-reliant nation. “In today’s highly competitive global market, it is crucial for our MSMEs to meet export-quality standards. Initiatives like this, alongside platforms like the India SME Forum and partners like Amazon and UPS, are helping our entrepreneurs tap into global markets, opening new doors for growth and innovation,” she said. The ‘Start Exporting in Eight Weeks’ initiative will provide comprehensive guidance, resources, and networking opportunities free of charge for MSMEs looking to expand internationally. Vinod Kumar, President of the India SME Forum, emphasized the transformative impact of e-commerce, noting that it has removed traditional trade barriers and allowed even small enterprises to easily reach global customers. “By leveraging digital platforms, MSMEs can overcome many logistical hurdles that have traditionally restricted international trade,” Kumar explained. He further added that this initiative is a significant step toward positioning Indian MSMEs as a driving force in global commerce.
